PRE-DENTAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

The American Student Dental Association is a national student-run organization that protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of dental students. It introduces students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and provides services, information, education, representation and advocacy.

Whether you may know it or not, ASDA is not just for dental students. ASDA offers predental membership to undergraduate students who are committed to pursuing a career in dentistry and dedicated to the preservation of our profession. Undergraduate students can apply for membership either individually or as a student organization associated with their university. 

In most cases, this will be the first step toward your life in dentistry. It is a great way to get involved with student dentists from around the nation as well as gain exposure to the issues that student dentist and practicing dentists are facing today. 

HoustonASDA strongly encourages you to join ASDA and get involved as soon as you make the decision to pursue a career in dentistry and become a professional!

THE UTSD HOUSTON ASDA CHAPTER INVITES YOU TO ATTEND OUR EXPLORE UTSD Pre-dental day!

The next Explore UTSD Pre-dental Day event will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025

Highlights include:

• This event will be in-person Saturday, March 22nd from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

• Addresses from the Dean, Associate Dean for Student and Academic Affairs, and UTSD Alumni

• School Tour

• Admission and Finances Overview

• UTSD Overview

• Opportunity to network with current students

• Breakout sessions on:

  • What ASDA can do for you

  • Life and friendships as a 1st year student

  • Reapplying to dental school

  • Study tips

  • Things to include in your description admissions process

  • Time management

• Fun hands-on activities including class I preparations, restorations, and suturing!

• HPSP informational session

• Non-traditional predental students are welcomed!

• Attendance Fee:

  • Non-ASDA members: $80

  • National ASDA members: $70

    • Note: You will pay $80 initially and will be refunded $10 after the event

  • Pre-Hygiene students: $35
