Topic: LONG-TERM OBSERVATIONS OF PERIODONTALLY COMPROMISED PATIENTS
Patients are now better educated and concerned with not only esthetics, but also with the predictability and longevity of results. Osseointegration has created a need to reassess the standard of making clinical decisions regarding natural dentition; however, many dentitions treated with classical periodontal therapies have continued to maintain their teeth. Contemporary regenerative results make it possible to save teeth for longer periods of time. Priorities include the state of tooth repair, periodontal prognosis and the patient's end goals. The need to develop a specific problem-based treatment plan will achieve optimal esthetics for even the most discriminating patients.
